Factors affecting detergent quality

There are a large number of detergents available in the market, and some of the factors which will determine the quality of the detergents are
Detergency – the ability to clean, remove soil
Active ingredients – minimum level of cleaning active ingredient
Ash built up – maximum permissible ash build up
Active alkinity – ability to neutralize acidity
Total phosphates
Moisture – high moisture levels to be avoided.

Some quality standards specify different grades of detergents, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3 , Grade 1 being the best, having the most stringent quality requirement
