Frequently Asked Questions

What is VitaPRP2019-08-14T02:37:47-07:00

VitaPRP is a unique combination of treatments for skin rejuvenation.  We commence with a special vitamin drip containing micronutrients including vitamin C which is an important part of new collagen formation.  Microneedling causes an injury to the skin, our body begins the healing process, triggering new collagen synthesis. We then use the supercharged blood for PRP.  PRP therapy counteracts ageing by stimulating new collagen production in the exact areas of concern where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself.

What is the benefit of VitaPRP?2019-08-14T02:37:10-07:00

VitaPRP uses a number of different methods to help stimulate collagen production.  This works from within using the vitamin infusion containing vitamin C.  The microneedling results in injury to the skin stimulating collagen production.  The PRP then uses growth factors to also stimulate new collagen.  The overall effect is a three pronged approach to collagen production.

Does VitaPRP hurt?2019-08-14T02:36:45-07:00

The vitamin infusion involves placing a small needle for the drip similar to having a blood test.  We use some numbing cream for the microneedling and PRP.  The pain is therefore minimal and most patients tolerate this well.

What is the downtime after VitaPRP?2019-08-14T02:35:55-07:00

The downtime following VitaPRP depends on the depth of microneedling and we can adjust this to your recovery needs.  The deeper setting will give better results but is associated with a slightly longer period of redness.  This can be up to 1-2 weeks but generally most of the redness improves within a few days.  It is important to avoid sun exposure following this treatment as this can cause redness to last longer.
